I got mine (ChickenSalad) reserved even though I'm going by Ch1ckenSalad in BF2 as some punk had abused my actual nick. Registry service didn't complain bout me registering another nick than my BF2 one - in fact, it even says so on the website, that one can reserve a different nick than the one used...

The good thing about sci-fi shooters is that there's barely any realism aspect to be expected, simply cos no one can tell e.g. how many pulse rifle hits a standard body shielding can take or how effective a tachyon canon is against a Werewolf attack mecha Rev.3. The bad thing of course is, th...

Infra-what? Oh yeah, my phone's got that too, though I don't know what for. There's USB and Bluetooth and some even come with WiFi nowadays. IR is so ... 1990? Anyway, just so you don't get your hopes too high: I had 2 phones of the pre-usb era (a Siemens and a Nokia) and I didn't ever get any...

Overheating, if related to the videocard only as it seems in your case, could also occur from badly mounted heatsinks, failing vent, wrong bios, overclocking, faulty hardware. As I said, if there's still a warranty on it, have it replaced. If not, start with downclocking (if you oc'ed it), then dis-...

Sounds like you bought a new soundcard? So why not use the new one plus the speakers just for the game sound and set the old card together with a headset up for TS? Been doing it like this for years and it sounds and works great! My headset is a Creative HS 300. It's comfortable even after 6 hours. ...

I dont see anything wrong with pushing the same or less money on a motherboard dual CPU combo. Oh that aint wrong, it's just pretty useless as 99.99% of all games in existance simply don't support dual (or multiple) cpu's. BF2 doesn't so the load and verify would take just as long as with 1 (Xeon) ...

Well, beg your pardon Reaper13, but wasn't it you who posted that...
But hey, as I said, just keep on pushing that economy. Good luck.

Dude, it's more under-kill than over. While a Xeon looks all hot'n spicy for the uninformed geeks eye, it turns out to be close to worthless in serious gaming souroundings. It's simply not what it's made for. It's strengths are server tasks and workstation functions as with production software. Like...

Yeah, I think by now it's secure tp jump on the PCIe bandwagon rather than sticking with good ole AGP. Not that it'll get you some performance gain now but at least it'll ensure you upgradeability in the coming years (and vcard upgrades are the most common, next to cpu). As for the cpu brand, well I...
