Re: Recommended Software/Hardware for recording gameplay.

The capture card takes the processing load off your cpu, but the HDD is still needed to hold the video as it's captured. You'll still need a decent high capacity HDD with a capture card. Ah. I understand that I need a high capacity HDD. But what I was wondering is if I need to get one tha...

Re: Come back

If you're on a budget, I know a website where you can get the russian version for $21. It's where a buddy bought me my copy :)

Re: Let's learn more about each other.

I'm Joe and I live about 30 minutes outside of Chicago, Illinois. BF3 is my first modern military fps game; it was a gift and it's a Russian copy. I used to stream quite a bit of my gaming, but haven't done so in months because of laziness. Here's a clip: [youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaZJ...

Re: Recommended Software/Hardware for recording gameplay.

Just remember that it is a Refurbed HDD. Only get that one if you need the space. Otherwise, 1TB HDDs can be had at the same place for cheaper. Yeh fittyman is right, it's better to get 2 1TB HDD's. One of the fastest 7200rpm HDD is the Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB. As far as I know they are aroung 70-...

Re: Recommended Software/Hardware for recording gameplay.

What i use for gameplay footage, when i'm aiming for the lowest possible loss of framerates as possible, i use: Dxtory - Record in 720p (1280x720), but i still play in 1920x1080, which is why dxtory is great for recording gameplay - 30fps since youtube doesn't support more then that - Dxtory Video ...

Re: Recommended Software/Hardware for recording gameplay.

I've read that you can estimate your output bitrate with width x height x 3 x fps = bitrate (byte/sec). So for your 60 fps at 1920 x 1080 resolution, that would be ~373.25 mbps. Considering that 2TB drive would be entirely for video footage and completely empty of everything else, you could capture ...

Re: Recommended Software/Hardware for recording gameplay.

I'd recommend using dxtory instead of fraps; it uses a hardware interrupt instead of screen duplication, so it saves a bit of processor strength AND can record in super high pixel perfect quality (Literally). However, the bitrate is unbelievably high and you'd end up filling gigs of hard disk space ...

Re: New DLC, Content Service, and Double XP Weekend

BF3 is the first heavy DLC game I've played; admittedly I'm still very used to DLC being called "patches" and coming out for free. I actually didn't even own Back to Kirkland until last week for the 5/5 battleday. But, I guess new content is worth the money, somewhat. The premium se...
