Well I picked up the song/meme and ran with it because 1) it's a catchy k-pop song and 2) Haruky is Korean so the song became PRIDe's theme song. I honestly don't know why its become such a sensation online/in the US/outside Korea. It's probably just like any other one hit wonder, it was the right song and the right time and while some people liked listening to it, others just decided to jump on the bandwagon.

I never really found the music video all that funny in itself. I liked listening to the song, but it wasn't until it became an internet meme at which point parodies/covers started popping up everywhere and Psy made it onto several American TV talk shows, at which point the mass hysteria caused by the song became hysterical in its own right.
