Just watch it, this happened to ALL ORIGIN ACCOUNTS, not just "famous" people or something like that, so make sure to change your password, bank stuff, credit cards, you know.

Edit: in case you didn't understand, some people hacked Origin security thing, and they have access to every single account, including passwords, GAMES, BANK ACCOUNTS (used to buy games for ex). And supposedly they are selling the accounts.

Because I forgot what birthday I put in when I created the account 4 years ago, I'm only able to change my password.

EA's security is a disaster. I can't believe you can't change your e-mail just b/c you forgot what Birthday you put in. If you lose your account, it's gone forever if you don't know what birthday you put in.

why haven't they released any announcement regarding that?

i mean, why should i take the word of a miserable kid for true?

i don't know whats the laws in your countries, but here we can just call the credit card company and cancel any purchase done with the credit card. then the strore calls the buyer and say "WTF?! pay bitch!"

This is pretty serious - what's the validity behind this video?

Origin:
A great way to have all your games stolen at once.

well, that sucks. can't exactly change my credit card either, only have the one, and its actually a debit card.

guess I'll be rigorously monitoring my bank accounts.

First guys, Bigmooney is not a KID, he has been doing youtube for almost 3 years now, and the same thing happened to Nickbunyun a week ago (another youtuber) And I also heard it from some spanish youtuber than now I can't remember.

So, if you don't believe this (don't know why really) don't do anything about it. I prefer to take 1 min of my life to change my password instead of having the chance of loosing my game.

Edit: In my country if you have already bought at least one game with that credit card, they won't call you to ask about.

Posting from my cellphone and can't watch the video.

Were the hackers able to decipher the passwords or only reset them?

Seems like they got the account details from everybody.

Agree I'm always very dubious of claims like this.
Most of the time when some one is "hacked" they have used an trivial password or use the same password/email on some other, less then honest, place.

The dude in the video says that he used the same info on uplay so its not unlikely that he used it on other places as well.

He just claims that hackers have "all your info", no specifics and nothing to backup his claims.

But there are horror stories of big sites doing insane stuff like storing passwords in plain text.

So its not at all outside the realm of possibility that the origin team left a huge security flaw some where. But I think it is unlikely.

Yea the BD thing is silly, especially here in Sweden where finding out some ones BD is relay easy, go big brother government =/

But there is probably some thing in the EULA, that no one reads, that sates that you can only use their services if you provide your real BD.

I'm some what security aware person and avoid using the same email and/or password on different sites.
Its not hard to make a few gmail account and use them instead of you primary email, if you trust google that is ;)
Or just buy an domain and you can have unlimited emails and control over them, it not expensive =)

For added security on suspicious places I generate an temporary credit card, via a web interface my bank offers, that can only be used for a fixed amount.

This stuff has been circling around for a pretty long time now, it wouldn't surprise me if it was true. Just change your password, and please make sure it's not the same password as you got on your primary email. Also use both small and capital letters, aswell as numbers and characters.

Wait a minute, so everyone is freaking out and trying to change their password because some kid on the internet experienced reputable youtuber made some ridiculous claim with no factual basis of official mention? Not to mention the fact that this random person on the internet makes money by attracting your views through sensationalist headlines?

C'mon guys, look a little deeper than the headline.
