Moon landing anniversary

Post by RazY70 »

It's been 44 years to one of the most elaborate hoaxes ever conceived since... blah blah blah

On a more serious note, the moon landing had to be one of the pinnacles of modern times' achievements. There might still be a few old geezers around here who had the privilege of experiencing this phenomenal event live. Can't even begin to imagine what it must have been like. Now we get astronauts experimenting the effects of zero gravity on rat droppings. Ah the good ol' cold war days. Just kidding, but at least some good came out of those times.

so far only 12 American men landed on the moon. Since 1972 no other human walked on its surface.

Google Lunar X Prize competition offers a total of 30 million US $ to the first team that will land a robot on the surface of the moon, travel 500 meters and send HD video/images back to earth.

Yeah, and 8 of them are still alive (the youngest is 77). Pretty amazing.

So, what you're saying is that we need GC to go to the moon? That money will keep our servers up for a few months..

All Kerbal Space Program vets, please RSVP for Google Lunar X Prize.

Couldn't do it. This is close to one of the things which boggles my mind:

What happens if I had to scratch my nose when I'm out there with my helmet on. Just thinking about it makes it inevitable
