"hit & miss"? I am watching the Miniseries right now and am wondering what the title stands for. Is it something like "at a venture/on the off chance"?

It basically means "Sometimes it's good, soemtimes it's bad". Best example I can think of is describing a comedy show.
P1: Do you like family guy?
P2: The humour doesn't always appeal to me
P1: Yer, it is a bit hit and miss.
Meaning, sometimes the jokes are good, sometimes they aren't.

Is the show good? Seems interesting.

Sometimes succeeds and sometimes fails. Usually unpredictable on success.

The show focuses on "Mia" the main character struggling with her private life and her physical situation. Her hitman-work -while shown graphically - is only a subplot used to highlight the paradox of her being in control while at work and having things going all over her head when it comes to family, relationships, personal matters. So I guess the title does reflect that.
Chloë Sevigny is doing great in portraying Mia, whom despite of being a hitman is a totally lovable character. Having seen 4 of the 6 Eps. I think it is a shame they didn't continue the series.
