I understand how steam names work, I just didn't realize that you could change your URL. Isn't it by default your steam account name? So this person must've chosen the name 'expandas' as their name and change their URL to something else. Also, by switching wouldn't you lose all the games on your steam account? It seems a little silly for having a unified log-in that nobody else will ever see.

I changed my account url under profile options and made everything private. Losing access to old games doesn't really phase me since I've either never played them at all or moved on to the next iteration, e.g., BF3.

pro tip call steam, i had some issues when i played wow with 2 diff accounts and wanted to merge them together same thing with some account issues when it came to the name and email with origin i called them (yeah you prob gonna wait like 20 mins queue) got the problem solved
