I'll toss my vote for Machete. He makes some very good points in his blog and non-linear story telling has become common place in modern cinema so it shouldn't irk a new viewer that they are out of order.

Besides, none of the prequels can hold a candle to IV and V. Best start them off with the good ones to get them hooked, then show the rest.

I'd recommend Machete, as well.

What'd be good would be a long mashup of I and II, contract the first movie down to fundamentals, shorten a few obnoxious "romantic" (aka CREEPY) moments from the second. You might not get the same feeling of completeness or have the exact right pacing, but it would be a vast improvement.

Course, you'd have to introduce a device to make Anakin's sudden growth not seem completely out of place... Okay, clearly this won't work and basically we're stuck with them as is. DAMNIT.

Or wait 10 years for all the films to get remade/rebooted.
