I live in Canada and also what happens is that if you ship ups or FedEx they will charge $50 fee on a $25 item to do customs paper work.
I have also bought a rifle scope on eBay and had it taken by homeland security because you can sell "gun parts" to foreign nationals. Was was just using it to look at animals that's all. And in this case the scope was destroyed by homeland security and me and the seller spit the cost but I would imagine he would never sell anything out side of the USA again.
