they should first investigate why so many sellers ship to US only.
is that because theyre sure U.S. is the whole world?

No, it's a much simpler reason, a reason that many countries also share, and that's taxation on cross borders trading. Goods are taxed more leaving the States than staying inside, that bites into profit margins. Even if they are charging the customer 100% for all shipping costs, there will still be time and effort acquiring export licenses that many small companies don't want the hassle of dealing with. The average Joe Bloggs doesn't want to go through all the effort of applying for his company to be granted export licenses for the second hand Fluttershy moulded prelubricated silicone entryway when he's only going to be making $2 profit on the thing. If his company was to try to send something abroad without the right licenses and was discovered, he'd be fined to hell.

So no, these companies don't think the US is the only country in the world, it's just they don't deem it worth the effort to export outside of their country.

Yes. Some businesses operate via eBay, or via other companies like Amazon. If they are operating as a business, they have to have the correct licensing to allow them to export goods.

Yup guys, taxes, tarifs and other fees suck when shipping stuff abroad.

We wholesale glass at work and its a pain just to ship to Canada. You need 3 copies of a completed NAFTA form, 3 copies of an international invoice which has to contain all sorts of info for your business including tax id etc etc.. its no fun
