This WC has been all about good organization from the underdogs. Apart from the 5-1 win against Spain none of the SF teams have played well imo.

Costa Rica's performance vs. the Netherlands was fascinating to watch. Also kind of boring, but they were executing what looked like a Bielsa 3-3-1-3 masterfully. Anyone else see the Offside stats for the WC upto the semis? Costa Rica were killin' it...

For as great as they did keeping the ball out of their own net, however... they also managed to force Cillessen to make one save all game (3 shots on goal total) - http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/matches/ro ... stics.html

Also a fun read, the player heat map: http://resources.fifa.com/mm/document/t ... eatmap.pdf -- the Costa Rica 3-man CB didn't really leave that goal box of theirs!

I'm speechless... I thought Germany was going to win but not like this. I gotta say this is probably due to the lack of mental focus from our players, people have been hyping the 'emotional' factor of playing home, for the whole World Cup, you see the Brazilian players crying all the time. At our first drawback today we just broke down. Couple that with an amazing German team and you get this large score. Oh well, congrats to the Germans, they truly played like champions today.

saw the game in a Czech pub (some other Germans were watching as well, i think). Waiter brought us food, came back with a new beer, saw that it was not 1-0 anymore but 5-0 and was like: is this a joke?

I was so hoping Brazil would shot at least one goal, and they did. Hope those crying children are well...

tbh, for a long while Brazil was really not itself.

Was an insane game to watch.. I think having Silva out of the line up really was a nail in the coffin for them. Not taking away from Germany's game, they were insane to watch.

I expect Brazil to win the next game because of this, not that it matters but small victories

so long as you stay safe...saw images of fans burning the brazilian flag at halftime and reports of german fans and both teams getting armed escort out of the stadium.
woke up this morning, put on my slippers, walked in the kitchen and died

I can't believe that they showed that kid crying into his cup. That moment was probably seen by more people than any other audience in history. In history. When his friends find out who he is, and they will... my god.

Maybe it's not so bad in Brazil but I guess the american equivalent would be bawling your eyes out at the Super Bowl and having it played in slow-mo over and over again for the rest of your life.

Even tho the rivalry between Argentina and Brazil is extremlly tense and strong, I felt really bad during that game, and after the first few goals, it became boring to watch and took away all the nervousness and such.
