Very cool! I think this is the first time I've seen a model plane using the Magnus effect. I always found it neat that by using circulation theory, you can model lift generated by airfoils as a spinning tubes and vice versa.
And what's more, there were/are some ships that use large spinning cylinders for propulsion instead of sails!
Edit: This reminded me of something unrelated, Joukowsky airfoils. Basically you can map a certain type of airfoil directly to a circle with some fancy maths involving imaginary numbers. Circles are frickin' magic, yo.
