http://www.maxivista.com/

I use my laptop as an extended desktop monitor using Maxvista software. I have it setup for photoshop though. It might work for gaming, I don't know.

well, for that, gravis would need 3 computers to have 3 screens no?

Matrox Triple head is well known, I think it should do the job, but beware, you gonna have to run your games at something like 4096x1024, so you gonna need 1 (or more?) good GPU... (Which you gonna have looking at your futur PC ;))

Ho, I think you should stick with 3 4x3 screen and not 3 16x9, because 12/4 is enought widescreen I think :P

You can easily hook up 2 monitors to one pc. Most graphics cards have 2 outputs and default windows software will do.

Depends on how you want to use your multiple displays. Most vid cards have 2 outputs. Just plug and select the mode you want for the 2 displays. Just remember you are calculating/pushing twice as many (or 3x) as many pixels and the video card will feel the strain in games.
Some games, such as WoW, people will run one screen the game and the other screen for browsing info sites.

One prob games run into is unless you fill everything with the game, the game has to support running in windows mode. Which windows mode takes a performance hit. Vista has been hinting that windows mode is native of some sort.

Just wondering: How many games actualy support such crazy resolutions?

From my experience, ingame settings usualy max out somewhere around 1600x1200. Besides, that's way out of the 16:9 ratio what should mean yet more difficulties making the games bend to your (screen's) will. No?

Most games don't support it now, but will one day. And you can use the other screens for stuff like x-fire and TS, etc...

I have a second smaller screen that I put both x-fire and TS on so they don't get in the way of the game, and so I can always see who’s talking.
