And, when you start OC'ing your GPU... You will lose your Warranty.

GPU's are (as known) the items that are most likely to die first...

Thought I'd put this here if anyone else wants to try it: after washing several keyboards several times sucessfully it was a mouse's turn. Washed Razer Diamondback 3G in the dish washer and after 2 days of drying it works perfectly.

You can wash electronics, the tough part is being patient and knowing when its truly dry inside or risk shorting and permanently ruining it. Patience tends to be the hard part and making sure you remove any form of batteries.

Ideally you would wash it with 90% alcohol or other rapidly evaporating solvent. Water and detergent takes a lot longer if you don't open it up.

If your electronics get wet, please use distilled water to clean them afterwards (like with a brush or so).
Minerals in normal water will hurt your stuff.

As an electrician I would never recommend anyone to use water on electronics, period!
If you need to clean something, use for example CRC Electronic Cleaner or similar, but never any kind of water, not even distilled.

For example, when I do soldering on some circuit board at work I always use contact cleaner afterwards to get possible dirt and grease away.

1. Spray with contact/electronic cleaner.
2. Blow with compressed air, for example CRC Dust Off or similar.
3. Leave it to dry for a while if needed.

Spoiler: show
Try it on your pets next.
Water causes corrosion on the conductors.
It might still work, but i wouldn't risk it.

Open it up with a screwdriver and clean it old school.

Well, I think it's official now, my GeFroce 480 GTX is dying, after almost 5 years of loyal service....today finally I got the artefacts over my whole screen (been having black screens and driver stopped working messages and freezes for months now, bumping the memory clocks fixed that for some time, untill today), and now I have them all the time, even in desktop doing nothing....

I'm prolly gonna try baking it like Sup before I go buy a new one, but I'm gonna need suggestions which one to get since it's prolly gonna get to that.

Current Specs:
Win 7 64-bit
6 GB RAM
Intel i7 960 - 3.2 GHz
Gigabyte X58A-UD3R <- Motherboard
120 GB SSD
1 TB HDD

Basically, for a new gfx card I'd prefer nvidia, something that can work well with the other components, no use getting something awesome that'll just be slowed down by the other components....

Depends on the price they sell those aroubd you.
The 280x is supposed to be cheaper then the 770 (and has 1GB more VRam), but the increased demand made sellers bump the price by 100$.
Its still better if you can find it for the same price as the 770
(Here the 280x is still cheaper then the 770)

280X will have an advantage in BF4 thanks to Mantle but in pretty much all other games it gets beaten by the GTX770.
Then we also have the drivers and AMD doesn't really have a good reputation about the drivers, Catalyst is still crap compared to Geforce drivers, IMO.
I won't start any AMD vs Nvidia stuff but I would recommend the GTX770, mostly because I own it and know how it handles BF4 and other games, also my Asus DC2OC is so quiet, thanks to the heatpipe cooling.
Also, 3 years warranty is nice. ;)
