Oh Teamspeak you little scamp

Post by StarfisherEcho »

I've been trying to familiarize myself with whisper list settings for an hour now and I'm getting results that are driving me nuts.

The standard setup is: Groups/Channel Commander/Complete Channel Family. That lets you talk to every CC under your top level army (ie everything Pride Corps 1). Cool.

So I thought to myself, why not see what happens with "Channel Family"? That would only talk to people in my "channel family", which obviously is everything in my peer group (same level of the tree) and down.

Result:
As far as I can tell, 'Channel Family' has exactly the same effect as 'Subchannels'. It only talks down. If you're in a terminal channel (one with no subchannels), it won't talk to your peers at all. It also will not talk up the tree.

So what the hell is the point of "Channel Family?" Is there some other setting I don't have access to that makes it have value, or is it just another way of doing SubChannels?
