Bf3 100 % CPU with 3570k [RESOLVED]

Post by wahl »

Hey!

Nowdays when i launch Bf3 my CPU runs on 100 %. I run my CPU at stock speed and it shouldn't be a problem at 1440x900 and high on settings. Sometimes it works like a charm... Anyone have a solution to this problem?

What is your GPU?

I have a Intel 2500K (OC to 4,3 GHz) and I can even stream BF3 with limited FPS loss.

Do you experience any lag too?

BF3 has a cpu cap at 80/90 % . it should not be using 100%

When bf3 works fine i use 70-80 % CPU. I have a Asus 7950 DC2 so no bottleneck there. I'm going to try restart my computer and see if this helps.

Could it be an AV or some other service running in the background? Tried making the BF3 app a high priority app?

I don't have an AV, I like the adrenaline-rush. One process called "NT Kernel System" used 25 % CPU. Had the same problem on my old computer when I put my computer in hibernate..

1) you can't change BF3 CPU priority settings. i think its because PB blocks it.
2) don't use hibernation/sleep. windows is really bad at clearing the RAM, it'll eat up all your RAM eventually.
i just turn off the screen (have a timeout for the screen), comp never goes to sleep. and when i go out i just shut it down unless im downloading something.

Maybe you have speedstep enabled in your bios? It lowers you frequency when its not needed.

Familiar with this. When I put my PC on stand-by after playing BF3 and start playing BF3 after waking the PC up. My PC will eventually crash. (Screen goes black and sound is bugged out)

So yes, restarting a PC is never a bad idea (esspecially with Windows, Linux is more stable. That is why servers mostly* run Linux (and it's free :D).)

Now when you mention it i just noticed that my BF3 uses 100% on all cores when i start it up aswell. I also got an unstable FPS and alot of stuttering in the beginning of each round. Everything on my PC runs great, but BF3 runs like crap. I can barely record footage anymore.

Well, alot of people reported framedrops since the Aftermath patch; not just on the Aftermath maps.

Yeah you not the only one. I hope when they realease bf4 it is better optimized since it going to be using more of frosbites features. I dont want my computer overheating.
