Is your HD6870 overclocked? I have a similar card and can reach 60+ frames only on low settings and not in all the maps (though my display is 1920x1200).
I don't think so. I've done some more testing and it's more like 50+ fps, I'll normally get 60 but in a gunfight it'll drop a bit.

What map(s) were you testing on and were you actually looking at the number enough to see if it went lower ever? Because I don't think my 7870 barely got ~60 minimum on high.

I've been on maps from the vanilla game, Armoured kill and Aftermath. Running around I'd be averaging about 55. When in combat maybe 50, when just running about 60-65. On Alborz I was actually averaging 65.
These are the exact settings I'm using.

Edit: @Digz, I'm not fully sure, I only looked for a cheap second hand card on Ebay to last bf3 till I buy a new card for bf4/star-citizen.

you need to get it to a point where you dont dip below 60 in combat

Hmm, I think reducing Shadow and Effects down to medium/low could achieve that. I'll test it out later.

It's awesome playing at such a high resolution, however there are some annoying things. My minimap was much larger and easier to see at 1024x600

use your M-key! :O

btw 01001, what's the benefit besides slightly smoother images? I'm running at around 50 as well and it works fine for me ^.^

Actually, I'm pretty surprised by the lack of V-Sync. Don't you find it irritating when fps changes and your screen tears?

you should see as much as your monitor ables you to see, the normal refresh rate being 60 hz , the fps should be 60 .
