[Solved] Red shimmering pixels on Nvidia card

Wife and I came home after 3 days in Monterey (no storms!) at a family friends vacation house rental. Nice place (insert advertisement for our free stay). Some pics available on request.

Fired up the cold computer and had pixels flashing between red and black. Different on Boot, Windows start, desktop, and internet explorer. Feared the worse. 580GTX is showing its age.

Unplugging the HDMI cable and plugging it back into the back of the monitor resolved it. Not sure why it worked, as how does a digital signal act like theres a bad analog connection? Should have snapped a video, but now its gone.

Throwing this out there as my first thought was bad VRAM, video heat, or video overclock (not overclocked).

I often have the same issue with both my displayport to hdmi and hdmi to hdmi connections. Usually it's because the cable isn't properly inserted. Solution is the same as yours of course.
