LAPTOPS PLS HALP

I have lost any idea of what I'm looking for in a laptop. I have over 200 bookmarks on laptops that are appealing and I don't know what to choose anymore, or if I should change what I'm looking for. I also have these bookmarked:
Spoiler: show
Basically if it were to be perfect I would want a tablet like a Surface Pro 3 (it's a really nice flex-tablet with awesome touch-screen/stylus usability for notes, drawing/art, and using while portable) but is a gaming PC err laptop  Spec-wise I would want it to be able to run BF on High settings and hopefully upcoming games like The Division on High settings.
Priority based on specs:
Spoiler: show
CPU/Ghz
RAM and Battery life (easy, 8+ RAM and 5+? hours. Can work without a shipped-in SSD if I can still buy one for it later)
not an integrated GPU/VRAM
built-in webcam(?)
Obviously light-weight and good portability is preferred along with a good build for wear-and-tear.
Also I'm majoring in CS so yeah. Main idea is programming portability. And between tablets for light-weight notes and gaming specs/build I would lean more towards gaming. Budget: less than 1.5k USD.

EDIT: Some of the favorites I've been seeing is Lenovo Y-series, Yoga series, and ThinkPads, the MSI Apaches, and the ASUS ROGs.

EDIT: New Search
Spoiler: show
Róka wrote:EDIT: Alright, new updated post because as I've mentioned in OP I might change my focus to just a nice and light-weight way to store notes but still be able to have fun in LANs and I can use the save off the bucks.

allo Roka, do you have a reddit account? there's several /rs of people that actually enjoy microcomparing laptops' performance

Also with 1.5K you'll be more than fine!

Whichever you choose, plug in the Graphics card it has into this website: http://www.notebookcheck.net/Computer-G ... 849.0.html
It was very helpful to me when I was picking my laptop. There's also lots of information in the sidebar of /r/suggestalaptop that you can browse through to help you decide.

Yeah, I noticed that the games I'm looking to run require SLI in laptops (?)! 8O
Because the top graphics card that isn't SLI/crossfire barely gets 60 fps on high settings in arkham knight :?

EDIT: This is why idk if I should just give up on getting a gaming laptop and stick with a lightweight ultrabook/2-in-1-tablet.

Well, nothing will run arkham knight properly currently.

970/980m are pretty damn great for laptop cards, but the actual laptops you can get that have these are also ridiculously expensive.

My 580 differs. It seems to be some other issue, not directly related to GPU. Maybe drivers/environment.

Some "bad copies were shipped" according to some people, but I think it's drivers. I know of many people that have been playing it flawlessly. Also, on-topic preasuh.

I was gonna say the same, Asus laptops if it's for gaming.
Most people I know who has bought a new laptop for gaming recently has gone for the Asus ROG laptops, there are a few different ones in different priceranges.
Just pick the one that appeal you the most! ;)
Gaming Series | Notebooks | Asus Global

P.S.
Light weight and mobility doesn't come hand in hand when you want something for gaming!

Roger roger.
Someone also finally commented on that reddit post
Try to get a laptop with a GTX 970M. It's worth the premium, especially if you want to play games like The Division. Two more budget friendly laptops with such a GPU are:
Gigabyte P55W-BWNE for $1299
Sager NP8651, you can find it at a Clevo/Sager reseller like GentechPC, XoticPC, LPC-Digital or Powernotebooks. Just look around.
I started looking at the 970M and 980M.
What are all y'alls thoughts on these?:

Is there any reason why you prefer a gaming laptop over a desktop?
