My thoughts exactly.

ChickenSalad wrote:Yeah, all that talk about how Ati drivers and whatnot sucks ... kids, I've been on both sides of the river and let me tell you, there aint much difference. Some driver versions will always be sucky while others will shine. Seen that with Nvidia and with Ati.

BUT, that doesn't change that 6600GT>R9800. ;)
I have seen both sides as well and I agree wholeheartedly. Both companies have their positives and negatives and with any patience at all and a little luck you should be happy with either company.

I'm getting a Nvidea 6800gt 3DDr with 256megs myself. Unless the 512mb version comes out soon enough. After saying that I run an ATI 9600 Pro with 128megs right now that works great in any game I've tried it in.

Indeed. Next best price I've found would be over 50€ higher.

So for BF definitely go with nVidia over ATI.

On a personal note ATI customer service is horrible (at least my experiences with it have been). They are slow to react to consumer reported problems (though complaints from manufacturers seem to get taken care of with in weeks) and make some of the buggiest software around. Uninstalling a ATI card can take hours if you don't want to leave stray files all over the place and their multi-media center (for all-in-wonders and TV tuner cards) is a joke. The last paragraph is just my opinion of course but I would go with the 6600GT.
Well How ever old this thread is Your right about NVIDIA thats for sure.

I like looking at old parts of Gaming forums to truly see how ancient it is. hehe
+ I went to the last page in Tech SUpport & help and found a thread that Almost was close to today LOL.

Nvidia Still wins in video card market running BF3 games cuz the 9800GT can still run it.

.... I was reading this thread, trying to figure out why ANYONE would still be buying 9800s or 6600s today. Then I got to the end of the first page and saw... that it was 2005. You dun fooled me gud.

ATI's 4850s and 4870s all still run BF3 on medium to high. Just sayin.
