a new BF2 problem ***RESOLVED****

when i log in and it goes thru its gambit, the screen where it
has your different account, the little window in the middle
that used to have the BF2 SF log is now a black box with
"close or view/open", when i click close and click on multiplayer
and click "stop update" and click on "connect to IP" and type
the GC NY server IP i then load the map, but as soon as the
screen that comes up with the "select weapons/and what
map is being played" i can see my cursor, but i can not control
it with my mouse, nor does my ESC button work. all i can do
is ALT+TAB to get back to desktop. this has happend on every
server ive gone into, not just the GC one...anyone else had this
same problem, if so, what fix have you got for it...and NO i have
not downloaded the new patch nor have the SF game downloaded
nor installed....thank you...

I haven't read about that exact problem before. Are you using a wireless LAN-router? I would say do the following try and error approach.

As you say you get this with every server it shouldn't be Punkbuster but make sure you have it updated anyway.

To start out simple, can you play offline? Try starting a local multiplayer game and see if you can join.

Are you able to join the game by pressing the return-key? I know that I will bring you rght back to the spawn screen since you havn't selected a spawn point, but it might be a way to see if your game is reacting at all.

Also try using a different mouse.

Report back and we will think of something.

RETURN-KEY- NO.....
Also try using a different mouse. WILL TRY THAT ONE, BUT my mouse
works just fine when the game is loading(when u see the #2 rotating)
i can move it around just fine, and when the status bar at the bottom is
done loading and u can click on JOIN(that works just fine too) but as soon
as you join the server...bam.. mouse quites responding..

ok before anything else, please try if you can start a singleplayergame (use an offlineaccount), just to make sure the game is running at all.

Is your System running the current drivers (graphic/sound)? I assume you are running v1.03 of the game, right?

Since you are able to ALT-TAB out, please check in your task manager how your system is performing, what does it say? Bf2 not responding (of cause but how about the CPU.

Deactivate Firewalls and/or Antivirustools(Try this for LAN game first, sothat you dont have to go online unsave and yes I know you might catch something when doing so). Ports in Router open?

single player mission and starting my own server works just fine.
found out lastnite that my cobra216 account (the one i only use
for GC matches) is the only one giving me problems. My default
"offline" account works just fine..singleplayer/create server...
my pubing accout, or my regular clan accout if you will, works just
fine too. so with that said, i CAN play BF2, just not under the GC
account one..
i am going to delete and retrieve the cobra216 account to see if
that fixes it, or should i copy and paste all the settings from the
other account to the broken one.

if i do have to delete the account and create a new one, will that
mess up the settings in ABC or the tracking system used here at
GC?

This is something that the grandmaster of ABC Matdrat will have to answer. I assume even if so there is not much we could do about it anyway I amafraid, the worst thing will be that you would have to start anew attandancewise.

Other than that, I am glad to hear you figgured out what the problem was.

Well in ABC you can just change your "BF2 game account name", however the problem you are having with that account is a common one. All your controls have been delete, login that account and check the keyboard config etc... probably all blank.

NOW, how in the world did that happen so i can possible prevent

BF2 bug, had it happen to me hence why I knew... not heard it happed for a while though.
