Miami Server is up and running

Post by ph1l0r »

Just finished setting up a ranked and unranked Bf2 Server on the machine sponsored by Bakeratc.

Check the Server Page or connect right away.

Ranked is 204.13.5.252 standard port,
Unranked is 204.13.5.253 with our standard password.

Servers might have some downtime (few minutes) in the next days when we finalize their setup. If you have an idea how to set up the ranked server to attract loads of people post here.

Phil, does this mean the NY server is finished? I see the link to the right has been changed.

I've gotten correspondence from my side stating that ping and/or packet loss is a little worrying (particularly packet loss). Unfortunately, I'm not sure anything can be done to fix that... so just an fyi

I joined the server last night by myself to see how my connection was. Ping was between 95-105 the whole time and flying was impossible due to intermitent "pausing" (packet loss?) of the game. :?

It's still half the ping I get on the Euro Server but not as much of an improvement as I was hoping for. Still beggars can't be choosers I suppose. Thank you for donating the server Baker.

Network conditions may change daily. I didn't notice packetloss yet. Maybe it was just coincidence. I did some stuff on the server yesterday which might have introduced lag. Lets see and investigate. Miami is sure more far away than New York for the Euros but hey the NA server is meant for the NA guys ;-)
just call me phil on ts, ingame, wherever. i'll even respond to phil in real life. wooohooo!

I haven't actually played on it, but my ping is around 105, that's about 40 higher then the New York server, but about 50-100 less then the Euro server, so it all averages out I suppose. Anything around 100 is good enough for me, thanks baker!
