Euro Server Ip Changes Part II

Post by ph1l0r »

Hi there,

to keep you all entertained the euro server changed ip again. Promise it'll be the last time. At least I am not planning and changes in setup in the near future.

85.14.216.206 is the new ip. The hardware and network connection is still the same.

europe.global-conflict.org dns entry has been updated. It'll take a while until the dns changes propagate through the internet. If you encounter dead links when trying to download a map or patch etc. please head over to http://85.14.216.206/ for now. This might cease to function once europe.global-conflict.org works for everyone. So always try europe.g-c.org first.

Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask me.

For the geeks and nerds amongst us. The Euro Server is running Debian Etch now with a Linux-VServer setup Kernel 2.6.20. For http://europe.global-conflict.org I chose to switch from Apache to lighttpd which seems to be faster and using less resources. Enjoy ;-)
just call me phil on ts, ingame, wherever. i'll even respond to phil in real life. wooohooo!

Not sure how this relates. But this Saturday's battle, I had the best ping ever on our Euro server (~171ms ave), but the moderately bad lag. Could be a temp thing as only NA people seem to have the trouble also when asked on TS.
