WELCOME TO GC

Post by BRUMMIE »

Tomorrow is our first AIX battle. Tomorrow is important. To all our very welcome new members Tomorrow you will get your first taste of the GC experience. To all our vets and returning members Tomorrow we are back in the saddle.

Tomorrow we ask you to put your uber pubbing skils to one side and accept and enjoy a little discipline. You are being asked to play with a ‘Team’ spirit. This means accepting the responsibility of carrying out your HC’s directions. Do this and you will reap the benefits and rewards of playing BF2 the way it was meant to be played.

GC has a long and tortuous history of running campaigns. I don’t think I am sticking my neck out by suggesting we might well be the longest running not-for-profit Battlefield series campaign community out there.

This doesn’t mean we have perfected the art of taking a rabble ;) and forming them in to two well-oiled and disciplined fighting machines, but along the way we have learnt a few things that work towards that, and a few that don’t.

Respectful and gentleman like behaviors form our basic philosophy and keeps things fun while playing the game at a high level of intensity and skill. We don’t act abusive towards each other in the giving of commands and directions. We don’t expect anyone to accept abuse either.

We respect the chain of command but encourage feedback given at the appropriate time.

We use the same language we would use in our parents homes.

We leave our politics and religions at the door.

We respect Teamspeak protocol.

We don’t Allchat in game.

We poke fun at the other side (own forums only) but we don’t go too far.

We get milk and cookies and beer, with the occasional medal thrown in to keep us coming back for more that we are encouraged to display in our sigs for all to see.

Finally, and then I’ll shut up for a while, we respect the fact that we are a ‘Global’ community. We play internationally; this means North Americans and others will come and play on the Euro server for 3 hours each Saturday and adjust their game to high pings. In return we ask that Europeans and others come and play on the NA server for the next 3 hours. Believe me, the team spirit aspect of the game allows you to enjoy yourself either way.

And that’s it: Welcome to all members new and old – Let the Battles begin.

Oh and did I mention: All your sisters and daughters are belongs to 11th Marine Alpha Company “The Pack”. Duck, roll and cover SCUMbuckets Muhaahaa we are coming for what is ours.

This is an amazing video!

If only we could find a way to have it on the Front Page as a signature presentation of our campaign it would certainly do its share to attract players.

I suggest that it should be published on YouTube as well if it is not there yet.

Pretty good indeed!

I liked the F16 introduction, even if the theme would have suited more for a F14 ;)

hehe , couldn't find an F-14 in AIX ... :P

also, it is possible to embed divx videos in a website, however

i suggest a shorter version, also covering the inf and armor ...

but i can't "shoot" the scenes by myself, a few "actors" are required.
