There seems to be a growing trend towards this "play for free" gaming model... where you allow basic access to the game for free, and then charge for random (sometimes insignificant) upgrades or whatever. Color me curious.. I happened to enjoy BF:Heroes, it was silly and fun :-)

EA has decided that gamers really are sick of paying full price for bug ridden beta games. Just kidding, EA has discovered that kids with credit cards will pay more per micro transaction than they could ever dream. Hook em with free, then let them run wild with the card.
