Post by Chefcook »

Hi!

Rumors say, that BF3 is not only part of this Years Gamescom in Köln/Germany, but also will be playable there.

I will go there on sunday and hopefully the que is not TOO long.
(like it was last year for Diablo 3)

Anybody else going?

Me jealous! I'd love to go but unfortunately I've got no time. I heard that you can buy an extra special ticket to avoid possible queues...
Have fun!

I especially like the unlock-secret weapon which is mounted to the wing of the plane.

Gamescon footage of the EA Press Conference (Lots more BF3 information) as well as new footage of the map Caspian Sea has been released on the battlefield website.

The new trailer is only about a minute long but it has Jet and Attack Helicopter footage. ooooooooo puuurrrtttyyyy

I also learned today that the Engineer Class will have to choose between bringing AA or AT rockets on their spawn, creating some interesting changes for our pilots. Individual ground soldiers are going to be able to put up a stronger fight against Aircraft, should be fun.

EDIT: Goggles and Gribble have posted the videos elsewhere already. I are fail.

4 hours in line just to give you all this quick overview of my 17 Minutes BF3 Expirience.

This Game is the Bomb we are all waiting for. It is pure BF2 with modern
Graphics and Gameplay-Tweaks. The game is Loud, just Jaw-Dropping-good-looking,
good weapon feedback and last but not least the map we played was really
good designed.
Where do i start? At the "spawn" Screen. Here you are able to Change
the loadout for Infantry, Vehicles (in this demo just for the tanks) and
for Air vehicles. Infantry Classes are Soldier, Engy, Support and Recon.
I played the Engineer and only changed his loadout once. Switching from
Stinger Missles (because i wasnt able to see a Heli or plane) to normal Rockets.
But i wasnt really able to kill anybody with either rocket, because they were
driving/flying elsewhere. -.-

After that its Spawntime and here is something new. You have the possibility
to spawn at flags, squads or right inside vehicles. (I did it 2 times in our
plane waiting in our base)

The maplayout is really well done. Wide areas with lots of cover. When you fly
over the map, you cant really tell, where the "flags" are just from the layout,
because even the surroundings are really great designed and the "island" layout
old BF2 Maps had is something from the past.

The game is so detailed, that it is hard to spot enemies. Especially in a plane,
but i was never a good flyer anyway. The animation of the player really
looks great and you feel the movement of the soldier on the field. Recoil seems
to be a bit higher then before, but still ok. (not hyper realistic)

Sound is just great. Weapons, Engines, Radioshatter, etc all at the same time
create such a good athmosphere. It will be hard to Chat via Teamspeak during
intense Firefights.

Thats all i can think of right now.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Sorry, no.

They only stated the brand, who "sponsored" the pcs. (not quit sure which one)
Nothing about specs was said. And i am not quit sure, if the game was running on the "native" resolution.
