Where to buy?

Post by basmans_grob »

Hi All,

I was an active global member for a bit back in the day and one of the reason why I'm thinking of getting BF3 is to rejoin GC.

Where are you lot getting your copies from to get the best pre-order freebies and price?

Yours,

Basmans

Hey basmans!

I believe you're from the UK in which case I think Amazon.co.uk is a good place to order from (that's where I pre-ordered it). If you're from the US I think Origin or any of the retailers sell it for the same price but a native would be better placed to advise on that.

Hey Bas,
I personally preordered from EA's Origin which is the new EA link/downloader/whatnot thingy. If you preorder there you get early access to preload the game so when its released you don't have to wait downloading it. You also get a free DLC with BF2 redesigned maps and several weapons that others need to unlock first.
Here is the link: http://store.origin.com/store/eaemea/en ... ld3_IE_LE/

Origin is £8 more expensive than Amazon (including the price of first class post) which also includes 'Back to Karkand' and the 'Specact Kit'. Preloading is no better than receiving the game on the day of release either IMO, unless you plan to play at midnight.

Lol thanks Brummie. Sorry to let you know the pre-load is only 2 days before the release instead of a month

I preordered through Origin so i didn't have to drive to a game shop, and so I can start off with the DAO and flechette ammo.

If you wanna save money I would go with Amazon, release day delivery for just a dollar more, and it's still cheaper than Origin.

That said, Release-Day delivery is not till the afternoon of the next day from experience. Usually, when I order from them I get my game by 3 or 4pm on the day it is released. Origin will have it to you at Midnight of release day. I'm nerdy enough to drop the extra couple of bucks for instant downloadable preloaded battlefield 3 goodness.

DLC is Downloadable Content (like Back to Karkand for BF3). IMO is "In my opinion."
