I think its pretty funny that the M249 is NOT on the list, as it seems to be one of the most abused support weapons currently.

M249 suppressed, with glow in the dark scope, is my ultimate camping tool.

I am just glad that it is working as intended

I like that you can suppress the sound an M249 makes.

You can supress the USAS as well though you have to be an employee of Dice :(.

After last night I think I heard the sound of the USAS all night in my head. I sense a nurfing in the future :).

Crazy part is, Suppressors are available IRL for shot guns.

Kinda glad Dice left them out though..

Suppressing a howitzer really gains you nothing in the grand scheme of things. When I was in the ARMY supporting these things we used radar to direct counter battery fire. Noise really means nothing and the motto of the artillery is "Shoot Move Communicate. We basically fired a round or 2 and then moved to the next firing point. Setting that thing up would of course make that a bit hard :).

I believe that was built for testing purposes after people that lived in the area complained about noise. It wasn't intended for field use.

I believe that the DiCE only unlocks are available on an unranked server. I'm pretty sure I saw the suppressor in the item list for the USAS when I was on the GC unranked server the other night.

I really doubt that. The Army does not really care about noise issues at all.

In Germany the army does (or did, to be more precise).

This sound suppressor was a testbuild, for a Testing-Ground which was located next to a little village.

But i am not sure if this device was ever really used, or scrapped, because it was too expensive.

I can vouch for this, After doing many exercises in Germay (Hohne ranges) we were not allowed to fire before a certain time in the morning and after a certain time at night.

For arguments sake we'll use no live fire between 23:00 and 07:00.

Also just noticed i used to be your neighbour Chef.
