NA Tank Ops

Post by LCourage »

So when did Black Ops become Tank Ops?

Next time please give me a heads up when the whole NA Black Ops will be Tank Superiority. That way the few free hours of game play I can muster for the week are not wasted. I know some of you are single students and thats great. But please don't alienate the older gents like myself who have to sacrifice quite a bit to make a BO or battleday.

Well, I wasn't particularly enjoying Rush only last week either... So unless you wanna tell us the map you want do play  , that's just the nature of the beast ... i guess.

I understand what you mean. Due to the way the campaign is structured, I highly doubt teams would disclose attack information unless it was a mutual agreement. On the bright side, there are two less Tank Superiority maps that you have to worry about, and teams don't have an incentive to play poorly to delay rounds.

Yeah I hate "tank superiority" too, but as Flummi pointed out, people like different modes, so we can't just get rid of it :(
Maybe we could limit the number of games in a row that can be played on a certain mode, excluding the core modes; rush and conquest. ie you can't play games in a row of TS or 2 in a row of CTF

im in the armor division and i can't say i enjoyed the EUBO.
with less then 20 people per team and no air, its all about the tanks.
3 tanks per team, 3/4 of the team is allocated to support the tanks. for 3 hours. great.
i prefer the "infantry only" black ops we had last campaign.

Having 1 tank per BO map and maybe a restriction for a viper such as being far away (antenna) and just provide support from long range, and can only engage air to air (enemy chopper) prolly or something like that! I believe it was cool because infantry only rush was getting a bit boring, because if 1 mcom was destroyed, the other team just swarmed over the last mcom..

I think the conquest maps need to be limited to having 1 tank in use only. 2 Tanks on Caspian/Kharg and especially the 3 on firestorm just felt like it was too much. Adding armour is a nice change of pace, but turning them into armour domination ruins it, I feel.

KART had about 14 players last week, LOD had 20++, no one said a word about it in the public forums even though we got smashed to pieces during Rush that some dislike.

I liked EUBO this week, mostly because when you are less people you have to rely on everyone doing there job more effective.

Channel Commander was even more messy than during a "real" battleday, I blame Flummi for that, I have to mute that dude next time...or boost our FC!

Last but not least: There is no I in team! ;)

I didn't see any 14vs20 last week as GC has player balance rules, allowing just +1 when numbers are under 20.

I know this probably isn't going to change during this campaign, but just for the record I believe Tank Superiority is simply a horrible game mode for GC.

This has nothing to do with the results of this week's BO. I disliked the mode in the previous campaign as well. While there is indeed no I in Team, I don't really see where the team elements come into play in this mode. It's basically TDM with an "everybody gather around here" thingy, played on a large map.

I realize some armor guys might like this mode, but as an inf guy I don't enjoy what it has to offer. Speaking for myself only, I do not intend to take part in future TS matches.

i don't even care if it wasn't promised again this time, as the games go on the NA
server which auto makes it worse for me to play and have fun, if BO is not INF im not in it.

Tank .superiority is being played because people who want to play it said so, those who don't haven't said anything before the campaign.

LC unfortunately you will rarely know what mode/map is going to be played on BOs, yesterday nobody from your army could know as it was KART's attack. :)

Everyone can start posting suggestions for next campaign, preferably in the Supporting members forum. The sooner we get input the more time we have to discuss and prepare.

We had 6 TAs on our team a few rounds. ;)

When I look at the scores I can see you still played one map of conquest and then two maps of Tank Superiority.
You must admit though that you were pretty superior on Rush last week, maybe that's also one reason why the KART HC chosed to play something else, just to see how the resistance is.
Tank Superiority is actually quite a good way to measure how the other teams armor really is.

What sup said +1

Tank superiority: inside a tank = good. Infantry = boring. I understand how someone may feel.

Besides this seems kinda biased conversation, cause we played almost everysingle map this BO that has a tank (Caspian-Firestorm-Kharg Island-2 TS maps). If a team feels he has a certain edge of some kind on some role that day it would be wise intelligent to keep playing in the same way.

PD: we just play really few rounds of CTF but i vote for it to be Infantry Only (i said this before we actually play them on BO).
