Help us find servers!

Hey everyone!

As you are no doubt aware, BF4 servers crash. A lot. They crash enough that we're seriously wondering if we can find a good server provider in time for the campaign. No one wants to go live on the campaign and then have 50% of our rounds fail to finish.

Here's our current plan:

1) We hear rumors that Monday will be a significant patch. We'll wait and see if pub servers become more stable.

2) If they patch seems to help, we will begin a crash search for good providers. This is where you come in. While you're pubbing, take note of servers that seem to be stable and have good pings. Post them in this thread. If enough people agree that one is stable, we'll take a look at it before making our decision.

If the patch does nothing or makes it worse, will will most likely delay selecting a server provider for at least one week. We see no reason to spend the community's money if we can't actually use what we buy to run battledays.

Help us help GC! Go forth and find servers!

Some of us played on a france server yesterday that we hosted on http://www.nitroserv.com/en/ looks like they have a short trail.

EDIT to clarify I posted this because we played several hour on it and experienced little to no server lag and no server crashes.

Played a lot on servers from rocket blast and I haven't noticed any weird rubberbanding or server crashes.

We can all prolly find nearby servers that offer good ping but thats not the point really. I play on Seattle or Vancouver servers but does that do any good for someone from OuterTransylvania where .Sup lives?. We play internationally, so we need to be able to offer good NA servers for Euros and good Euro servers for NA's. Good ping becomes irrelevant at some level. I spend most of my GC battledays playing on servers that are 100ms plus. Thats the information we really need.

But yeah when searching for a euro server(example) we actually have to look at how well it pings to our NA friends and people from other continents. Us Euros will have good ping on every euro server, relatively speaking. The most important thing is performance and stability.
I think for Euro server only London and Frankfurt are feasible, for NA it should be something on the Atlantic side of Northern American continent.

So I suggest we try servers based on those locations regardless from your location.

we on the EU side can not help you with the NA server but what we can do is help you to find a good EU provider and then you are mocking my suggestions.

I don't know about providers that well but sweden/germany for EU location and chicago for NA location always seem to be the most stable for me.

As we've seen in the past with Battlefield games, ping does not matter that much, especially not in BF4 where you can have 5 ping but still rubber band like crazy and/or have bad hit reg, due to the quality of the server you're on.

Rocket Blasts servers are located inside a bomb-proof quarry in Stockholm. Pirate Bay's website was once hosted there I believe, pretty cool. So we won't have to worry about our EU server going down if Sweden gets attacked

So, the point with having our EU server hosted by Rocket Blast is that the quality of the servers are good and that they don't give anyone a specific priority, unlike other server providers where you can even add "High CPU priority" if you pay more.

They also have price warranty, so if other providers costs less than Rocket Blast, we can get it for the same price.

I, ZebraPeps and Archdirtydigger have a pubbing-clan that rents a 32-player server on Rocket Blast.
After the serverpatch on Saturday we haven't had any problems at all, it's just very smooth.
They have also installed a new admintool called RocketCon, might be their own.
