Classic Mode = GC Mode (almost)
phpBB [video]

Looks like they may roll out a game mode between Normal & Hardcore that's very close to GC's server settings. Currently available in CTE.

For the record: I don't think this is bullshit, but it seems like most CTE/update info gets posted in this thread :P

Edit to add: author didn't mention in video
Magazines with unspent ammunition have that extra ammo discarded when the magazine is discarded.
Squad spawns are limited to the squad leader

Just need the 80% hp, third person cameras, and Friendly Fire.

except for the part where we've ran 100% hp with BF4 because of the unique way the server treats playing with health values.

Ah. Well I can see us dealing with first person locked, however I think friendly fire is a pretty good gameplay aspect in GC that isn't in classic mode but it's the only setting we'd have to change right?

Why would they raise the player model without raising the players camera/POV? This gives the illusion you are more in cover/hard to hit then actually are.

Well already the player POV looks like it's higher above cover than it is, this change is supposed to bring it to current POV levels.

Just a question: As a soldier are you advised to lean your head to ADS or bring the gun up or both? Or what's the proper "technique"?

IRL?
You lift the weapon up to put the rifle butt in the socket shoulder. Then you need to slightly lower your head to rest the cheek on the stock, squeezing the cheek sets the eye above the stock and aligns the scopes with your eye.

The weapon is built to have elevated scopes that align with your eye level so you do not lower your head to the weapon, that would hurt your neck and you won't be able hold firing position for very long.
A good example is the extra stock elevation that is required when mounting a scope using a Picatinny rail on the carry handle of an M16

His previous video (about visual recoil) does a really good job of demonstrating how the POV is wrong:
http://youtu.be/cPr5K23Xk4c
which leads to peeking/head glitching. Gives good context to why they're making this fix.

Basically your camera view (and with it sights & bullet trajectory) are currently higher than your player model. That's how you can get shot by a guy who looks to be completely behind a wall/full cover- but from his view, he's over the cover.

This change brings the head & weapon up to the proper height that the shooter is actually experiencing. What drives me crazy about their current fix is that the player model stands up taller when aiming rather than just bringing the weapon up to position (see the BF2 example in the video above).

Well, if the POV is higher then the player model, and you bring the weapon up to the POV, then you'll get this:
phpBB [video]

If what you say is true, then they either need to make the player model taller to align with the POV, or lower the POV to the player model. what they did is fixed it for a specific stance/case.

The difference wasn't that extreme. The POV & bullet trajectory was from roughly the player model's forehead, not above the head.

That's exactly what this fix will do, as is shown in the video.

Look at the view from behind cover- you no longer see over the cover as well- the cover obstructs your view properly because the POV has been lowered.

Look at the ADS animation- the player model stands up taller when ADS'ing.
