Commander mode and round switching

I will give out a shiny cookie to anyone who can clearly describe the behavior of commander mode on restart. They seem to randomly change teams instead of making any sense at all. Bonus points if you do experiments to prove your hypothesis.

It's random. What we've had to do at Level and 21CW is just have the commanders ALT-F4 at the end of every round and then rejoin on a friend from their team. Then apply for commander from in-game.

There is an option ingame that tries to place you into the same squad and team as your friends after each round. Maybe this also applies to commanders and it gets confused because you usually have a couple of friends on each side and it has to choose?

i suspect the last server patch made commanders swap sides with their teams.

Given half of the time the commanders were on the wrong team during the BD if they were loaded in ahead of time, I don't know how you've came to that conclusion. . .

Have you tried WarCon to see if you can switch commanders from there?
