What got me thinking was that we had a 13 year old player last battle day (I got told), for a game that's rated PEGI 18 and ESRB 17.
That means that we can't really be responsible for what he/she hears on TS, since at 17 years of age you probably heard it all already.

The defense of that is that a parent may approve of the violence and profanity, but not nudity (prudes.)

how is it even going to be enforced on TS?
Gonna go over the TS log file and check links for nudity and send Gwynzer's bot to record the conversations in russian to be checked for discussion of Ukrainian political crisis at later date?
To whom i should report if another TS user asks me if i'm a jew?

Did something happened that this had to be 'changed' all of sudden?

Considder it like this:

During battledays and in any occasion where you don't know everyone in a teamspeak room, think before you post.

We're not going to, nor attempt to, listen in on others conversations looking to ban them. Unlike the forums which are mostly able to be viewed by large groups of people, teamspeak has the possibility of being private. We can't and won't attempt to moderate such private discussions.

To those who are wanting to know why something happens, in short a naughty pic was posted in a public space with a minor present. That's something we want to avoid for obvious reasons. There's a comment earlier about this being a game for 17+'s, which is fair enough, however some people may allow their kids to play due to different opinions of the severity of Violence, Nudity and Profanity (personally I find nudity to be the least offensive, but that's just me, I know others are different). Some adults may also play in an area where their kids can see. Although I'm sure random boobs could very well be the highlight of their day, it's not something all our parents would be eager for them to see.

The bottom line is this:
Be considerate when there are others in the room.

Showing holes filled with hotdogs is what ruins it for the rest of us.
Relax, don't push it and have fun.

Not pushing it, just a bit amazed it happened now, not after the first time when everyone just had a laugh about it (even the guys from the senate), but I guess some are more sensitive than others.

But from now on, if that pic ever will arise again, I will put NSFW in front of it!

ha, that pic has been around for ages. I guess all senate members have seen it multiple times (or they never click on knorren's links... )

You know how it is, most people are okay with these things or dont care enough to raise their voice.
But most people is not all people, we all have a different value system,(which btw still amazes me how differently it is sometimes!). With a couple of new people joining, it is better to be safe and pay extra attention to our golden rules.

Save from Ceki at last!

I'd add to the TS rule not only pornographic pics but any content that might be disturbing of nature - gore, blood, decapitated people, riep and that sh1t. We used to have kids around 15-16, hell I was that age when I joined.

please don't.

Do you really want to play the parent part and decide what content other people should and should not be exposed to?
Fact: most teenagers consume porn without the help of our Teamspeak.

Its not up to me to decide what content people should or shouldn't be exposed to, and i see no problem with a group of people (regardless of age) discussing any of these subjects.
Each person should be responsible for himself. And if you think a teenager is not mature enough to be responsible for himself then his parents should be responsible for him and supervise him every second he is browsing the internet, or not let him access to the internet at all. Its definitely not my responsibility and i doubt its yours. Its not our job to educate people and determine whats good and whats bad for them.
especially since the vast majority of members in this community are 18+.

If i deem a subject to be inappropriate for someone in the channel i can refuse continue discussing whether he minds it or not. In case someone tells me he finds the subject being discussed disturbing then i would stop or leave the channel out of consideration for that person.

But the indecent described is not even this situation!
I wasn't there this time, but from my experience these teamspeak links have nothing to do with the ongoing discussion. Someone posts the link on purpose without any description (or wrong description) as a provocative joke. Some find it funny, others find it not funny (but not offended either, its just not their taste) and thats it. Its NOT a discussion of the mentions subjects.

The rule in this case should be "have common sense", but having such a rule won't help those who don't have common sense.
In fact, i think that if you witnessed a situation that you think someone might of been offended then you make a post reminding people to be a little bit more considered of others around you.
Not come up with rules that you do not intended to enforce most of the time. IT doesn't even make sense.
If there is someone who continuously offend others he should be sanctioned. But that is nothing new either, its already being done with bots and trolls.

As much as I agree with Necro on his main points, like people will look at what they want to look at, I think the main idea of this posting is to say that while we are all together in "public" (aka with others we dont know very well) space on TS we should limit the amount of discussion/posting of certain items. This is more of a over all consideration of being nice about it. Just because they can look at something on their own does not mean we have to be the ones to introduce it.

Thats not to say dont have your private convos. Please do, but during high traffic times (such as battle days) limit what you expose people too yourself.
