How that guy knew you were coming...
...and turned around to shoot you in the face:

@ fUNh1t
I do hope they make this feature completely realistic, though.

Well that's really interesting, I had no idea about the passive spotting at all. Do you still get points for it though, I wonder.

Re: How that guy knew you were coming...
no as you only get spotting points for actively spotting an enemy activating what would be considered 3d spotting in normal mode to over players on battlefield at a longer distance

The ping dot suggestion is a bit silly. Guns make different noises depending on where you are relative to the direction of the muzzle.
Re: How that guy knew you were coming...
Make it like Planetside, dot for audio spotting, tugs and so on, and arrow for manual spotting.
"Clubbing, drinking, dancing, glancing, flirting, winking, greeting, meeting, chatting, laughing, talking, walking, leaving, weaving, stumbling, fumbling, cabbing, asking, viewing, brewing, nuzzling, cuddling, feeling, reeling, kissing, twisting, touching, rushing, stripping, gripping, clutching, thrusting, bending, arching, gasping, slacking, melting, sleeping, waking, smelling…
Dirt?
Scrabbling, pounding, thumping, bumping, screaming, scratching, groping, choking, crying, gulping, stifling… quieting.
Breathing…breathing…breathing…

A game which is largely based on reality. Almost everything in the game is designed to follow some real life counterpart. Obviously the mini map isn't realistic, but one could say it's a supplement to the lack of awareness and communication that is more prevalent in reality.Fields wrote:This is a gameCognitoCon wrote:The ping dot suggestion is a bit silly. Re: How that guy knew you were coming...
So you're worried about the 3d spotting and gun sounds. Not the infinite ammo boxes, or health boxes, or reviving a person after being shot in the head, or repairing anything with just a blowtorch, or magic respawning vehicles, or killing a player in 4-5 bullets from a rifle, but needing 10+ hits from a much higher caliper (caliber?) spinny cylinder gun. EDIT: Heavy minigun
Just saying, bruh.

I never said that this was my only complaint. Also, the transport minigun fires a 7.62x51 round which isn't particularly large at all.
Re: How that guy knew you were coming...
You can have realistic elements (ballistics, sound behaviors, flight model, etc) with more traditional game elements (unlimited sprint, heath/ammo boxes, spawning) all in one game.
It's just too controversial and risky for developers/large studios to release such a beautiful, perfect mix of a game.
I'll just keep dreaming.

Reality? The only real stuff in this game are the weapons.
In reality you are out of the fight after being wounded, you can't drive and shoot a tank by yourself etc…
Only the weapons and vehicles in this game are somewhat based on reality (mostly in design and stats) but thats it. Even their damage output isn't real.
Its hardly "based on reality" and especially so in sounds. Start with the fact you'd clearly hear a rifle shot from 200 meters away no matter the direction it was facing. Not in this game.
Not to mention tank fire sounds… all die down after 50 meters.
If it followed reality the game would be a clusterfuck of sounds.
This game is a lot more non-realistic then it is "realistic".
P.S.
Remember how you could RPG buildings and make rubble fall on players in BF3?
Apperantly that technology was lost with Trollbite 3.0

Didn't realize the passive spotting was this big, and it certainly might explain a lot of ragey moments where flanking doesn't work whatsoever. That crap needs to be removed, or at the very least function exclusively as some sort of recon gadget or possibly vehicle perk.

It's big enough to take down a forrest, not big enough to kill two people standing still on a Field(s)!CognitoCon wrote:I never said that this was my only complaint. Also, the transport minigun fires a 7.62x51 round which isn't particularly large at all.
