One aspect needed to be considered in regard to Javelin/gunner soflam combo and that is range.
No lazed target lock-on max distance = 350m
Lazed target lock-on max distance = 500m

For SRAW the max distance for lazed target lock-on is 350m, (same distance applies for MBT LAW).

If Javelin is removed from the ban list, then certainly the gunner soflam has to be inserted into the ban list.
:silent:
Lock on distance of 500m can be detrimental for some maps as u can have one tank on backflag lazing almost everything while one engineer spam Javelins (reload 3s which is faster then stinger), i.e. Lancang Dam.

Besides that, Javelin has it's glitches as all other rocket explosives with the random duds, dusting (even on lazed targets) and no hits on fast moving vehicles (less so when shooting towards front or back).

Any kind of lock-on is cancer, IMO, but if you do unban Javelin - please, ban all laser designators then instead. 50-55 damage is fine on public servers, where there's no coordination whatsoever, but it's an endless source of frustration in a tournament. SOFLAM's have been banned in all 8v8, 10v10, 12v12 leagues since the beginning of time, and for a very good reason (while Javelin and Stigla were untouched). They're effective, but they just ruin the gameplay for both sides.

I agree, gunner soflam, that should be placed on the ban list to :!:

Does it still produce these damage values after the patch? Is the lockon time the same? Also, pub != GC.

If anything it'd be worse in GC, all you have to do is call out laze available and at least someone will help (unlike with stingers ... *grumble grumble*)

https://youtu.be/ue9l0FEwlas?t=13m54s Here is some footage from Silk Road on the BFI and as you can see the damage has been nerfed to 45 instead of 50 but that still makes it really powerfull as it also goes through APS. Oh yeah and it 1 shots choppers and also keeps the 500m range as you can see here https://youtu.be/ue9l0FEwlas?t=10m50s. This crap is just way to OP in any organised setting IMHO with the laser designated missiles also going around cover. I think if we want to unban Javelins that we need to ban all forms of laser designation.

+1 to add gunner SOFLAM (last laser iirc) to list and unban Javelin.

So yeah, back to refining polls ^^

-Leave as is
-Unban javelin
-Unban javelin but ban gunner laser

stinger, igla, rpg and SRAW, SMAW is enough, rest on ban list please

Air Force are degraded a lot now, zuni 19%, befor 29%, long TV and TOW reload its f. hard now to get tank down and they shot back higher with soflam one shot kill

If it is a lazer designated Javelin it'll go through APS, but a "normal" non-lazed Javelin will not go through APS as long as you don't move. The same applies for laser guided missiles from heli's and jets as well as TOW's (vehicle ones and/or stationary).

And yeah, revise the poll per Viper suggestion, although no one in their right mind would vote for option 2, right?

How would we even go about enforcing no gunner soflam? There doesn't seem to be a reliable way to check as there is with other banned weapons...

If you get killed by the gunner the loadout shows up no?

And even so it's easy to spot the big red laser, it's not anonymous LIKE CEKI'S FLASHBANGS.

Same as everything. You notice something wrong in game, you complain to your higher officer, Rob shouts at the poor soul.
