I was playing Sharqi Peninsula and there was a distance indicator in red letters (468m and decreasing while I was approaching it) somewhere behind the US east flag (in the water). When I reached it it disappeared. Next round there was a new one in purple. Any idea what was that?

Probably a squad leader command or something. Thought its odd that it disappeared when you reaached it. Sounds like the 3d map icons you get when your SL gives an order.

Have you patched the game? I've seen it too with the new patch. Not sure what it is. But i've only seen it as red

yes, it was a squad leader command, diff. color for diff comand ie
attack, defend, repair so on....i think it was just coinincident(spelling)
that a new order was given just as you got there and it disappeared
placing to the icon at the new location??? just a thought...

Funny thing is you can see the UAV flying over you now (and destroy it).

Thats been in the patch list, Davout. Not really new.

The distance marker is really frigging strange, as it seems to just be there. No idea why.

Here is a silly idea.

Is it maybe the distance to the UAV

It is airborne and you would not see it on the ground once you got there

I've only seen the UAV labled "UAV" in red or blue. The distance measure i've seen seems to be to nothing.

Saw the same thing while pubbing on Karkand the other day. Really weird

Was about 200 (m or ft?) under the ground.
Was going to take a screenshot, but apparently the print screen doesn't work after the patch

Hi everyone,

Can anyone help me and Mr_TicToc. We have both seen on the Web an e-book version of the BF2 Official Game Guide.

On this site http://www.primagames.com for $12.99

However, when trying to download it it fails. Does anyone know of other sites where we can download the e-book verion of this guide.
