While it is true that first turn does offer advantages, I had a lot of things in my favor from that screen shot. I had about 3x the amount of your troops plus mine where a tech level above yours. You have spear man, swordsman, and composite bowman to my pikeman, longsword, and crossbows. I caught your army out of position and were able to pound them when they came to assist.
For the future we could adjust the "first turn" for the defender in a war. Or we can go back to twitched based.

Not sure how many of ya'll are still playing Civ, but I've been much too busy to really think about organizing something. Unfortunatley, if you're EU, chances are, we won't be able to play together. Civ V is horrible when it comes to latency issues. EU players should get together and play with one another though!
