Too many teams are running dual tight ends and running back by commitee not to use the flex position. 3 WR worked well in FF 5-10 years ago but is now seriously outdated.

Agreed. Also, I'm gonna recruit the same person for my entire team and claim it as a clone army.

I am always up for FF but I can't make the draft time and not a big fan of Yahoo league set ups.

I traded for him in my fantasy pool early on last season. I sent Semin and Zetterberg the other way. Man, did Ovechkin disappoint. My fantasy league on Yahoo tends to run a little low on teams, maybe I'll post here once we get started up and see if anyone else wants to join :-)

Just signed up!

What's the deal w/ only 4 points for passing TDs?

It was recommended by someone else. 4 pts is usually standard for Passing TD's by a QB. And I noticed when I moved it from 6 to 4 it helped balance out the QB's to other positions so that it wasn't such a power house.

I'm making this post for 2 reasons:
1) To bump this thread and hopefully get a couple more people interested in the league and
2) To raise the issue of using a flex again.

I think we should use the flex instead of 3 WRs (or in addition to if that's the compromise we need) for several reasons:
1) Allowing the use of 3 different positions in one starting spot requires managers to be better at evaluating the relative value of players across different positions.
2) Forcing 3 WRs to be used doesn't require more strategy. It forces less. It forces you to be sure to get one of the top WRs and get him early. With a flex you have the option to be that guy that drafts both Gronkowski and Graham, loading up on TEs, or any other number of unorthodox strategies. FLEXibility is good thing.
3) Real teams are using a lot of running back by committee and multiple TE sets. Why shouldn't a fantasy team?
4) Fantasy football is about fun, and I think having a flex is more fun.
5) It's not 2002 anymore.

I hope to generate some good discussion here. Maybe we should put it to a vote.

I like the flex position as well as 6 points for a PTD. Anyone who doesn't likes killing puppies. Just sayin.

League is currently at 9 teams. Draft is set for this Sunday August 26th, SBT + .5 There is still time to join up.

Please vote in the passing TD point poll.

Commissioners Note
Seems the consensus is to have a flex position so I've changed one of the WR positions to flex. I have also added a poll in the league for how much a passing TD should be worth. Please vote and I will look at the results on Friday and change it if I need to.

Thank you all for your input this is only the second league I have commissioned with people that have actually played and heard of the term fantasy football before.

I am looking forward to the draft this Sunday and I hope everyone has an enjoyable season.

I am terrible at fantasy but I look forward to auto drafting a team and doing way better than I deserve to.
