Well I have two copies installed. One with 1.6 and the other 1.61. I was unable to download the GC mod from the FTP site after 2 attempts. The game loads but have not tried playing it yet. If peeps are on later tonight I'll jump in.

What resolution are you guys using?

GC Fun Mod and Maps

Once you have 1942 set up and running download this and put in your mods folder, then we can do the khaos Cart Racing like we used to and Flight school goodness!

GC_Fun and Flight_School folders go in your Mods directory

contents of bf1942 folder need to go in Mods\bf1942\Archives\bf1942\levels

If anyone has a fast FTP site where I can upload the GCmod and all its map packs let me know so we can get it distributed to other people. I'd upload them to our global-conflict downloads directory if I can get confirmation that we have the bandwidth and space available for sharing those files.

I used the provided keygen and keep getting invalid cd-key. If I thought we would ever play it again (even semi-regularly) I'd probably just buy the 3 pack, but I seriously doubt there will be any sustained interest in it at this point (frankly, I'm not sure I'm interested in more than playing an hour or two). I managed to actually find all my CD's for it, except for Disc 1. Makes me think it's probably still in the DVR tray from 2 computers ago. I really do wish BF3 would do artillery more like '42 or desert combat did it. The FO + Operator was really a cool deal, and the fact that it did enough damage and had enough range to make it respectable was awesome. It could be the opening to any assault, a feint, or just a way to apply pressure to the enemy.

I really hoped more people would play this. Brings back so many memories. It was actually my first online FPS game.

I played again today for the first time in 5 or 6 years. I was blown away by how much I forgot how to play. I must have played that game for thousands of hours. It's hard to forget to hit shift since it only makes you walk.

I think we all pressed shift when started playing again. I have to practice tanks and planes a bit to get a hang of it but infantry is in my blood, I can play it even when I'm wasted.

We have the space and bandwidth available to share the files no problem.

I've never played this before, so when I loaded it up on Saturday my first kill was a TK of Sup. Not a bad way to start!

Sunday = american football games all day long during the fall and winter months. I'd only be available on Sunday night if the Sunday night football game isn't worth watching.
