Global-Conflicts Battlefield 1942 server is up and running for the Free downloaded version obtained though Origin's Demo section. I've heard rumors that it will only be free till February 2013 so be sure to grab it before then.

You can find the server though the server browser by searching for Global-Conflict or just Global

It is currently running Desert combat final.

I zipped up the two folders and uploaded them for anyone that wants to check out the roots of all our current modern desert warfare games.

Unpack and place these two folders in your Battlefield 1942/Mods folder to play them.

You will need both of these folders to play DC

If you are running Merciless Mod, make sure to turn it off before trying to join a DC server.

Its set to Gazala with all planes in the game present, you don't need a mod to join it.

After installing Battlefield 1942, you need to go to PlanetBattlefield.com to update the game to battlefield_1942_patch_v1.6.19.exe then to battlefield_1942_incremental_patch_v1.6_to_v1.61b.exe

Or get them directly from EA at
battlefield_1942_patch_v1.6.19.exe

and

battlefield_1942_incremental_patch_v1.6_to_v1.61b.exe


If you have lost your cds here is a link to a torrent that has iso files for

secret weapons
with instructions on how to install them all. Try to use your original cd keys. I know we normally do not sanction this but there is a keygen there as well if you've just lost everything over the years and I also have a huge list of CD keys for all these games if need be. It has been 10 after all and some of you were still in grade school when we founded GC. Lastly there is a no CD patch there as well so you won't need a original CD to play.

Torrent

when you go to that page, do not hit the huge download button, you want to hit the link that says "get this torrent" with a little magnet symbol next to it. You'll need a torrent program installed for it to work like Utorrent or Vuse

if your installing to windows 7 64bit you may need to modify your registry a little if you are experiancing crashing of the game. if not don't worry about this.

Open Notepad and pase the below into it and save it as battlefield.reg then save the file and double click it after replacing the ************************ with your cd keys with no spaces

lastly here is a file that Installs an Application Compatibility Database designed to prevent Battlefield 1942 from crashing in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Good point on the punkbuster. Even ballance does not support 1942 any more so here are the latest files. download and unzip into your battlefield 1942/PB directory (PB directory is inside the main game directory) and you should be up to date
