Sounds super fun! Sorry I missed it last night.

One thing I don't understand is what actually happened to Rome? Is the wall still there? Are there buildings still there? I don't understand how Rome falls in this game. Was it just occupied by barbarians but not burned down?

Is it time?

Do we revive this thread once more?

It looks like RUST is getting a make-over. One that I'm particularly excited about.

I probably won't be playing Rust until this does release, but I hope it brings along with it a lot of fixes to what made the game frustrating at times.

I would definitely be very interested in recreating the glorious GC super-horde.

This should be exciting... We shall rebuild and become the super-horde of red hoodies once more!!!

I'll try my best to keep this thread updated with RUST updates. Once the huge patch goes live... we shall rekindle our horde.

I'm in. Had to take a small break before because it was starting to consume my life decided to come back and everyone had stopped playing. Needless to say was a little disappointing but understandable. Looking forward to the revival.

"My plan right now is to polish up what we have, get it playable and error free next week. At this point I think we'll have a strong enough foundation to let GPS start hosting servers and start implementing real crap." - Gary Newman

So it looks like it's coming along nicely. The experimental branch of Rust is getting constantly updated and it looks like as soon as this next week comes around the corner, the RUST team will begin working on some actual gameplay stuff for the game. I think at that point, the experimental branch will become the regular game and we'll be able to start actually playing the game.

I'm so excited!

Just a small peek at how the game looks now: http://files.facepunch.com/minhle/ak47.mp4

The game is still a bit ways out from being playable the way it was in its prime. But it's getting there. I can't wait for that day..

After looking at a few videos it seems Rust has been updated a lot the last couple of months, at least in terms of graphics. It looks pretty awesome and the weapon models, sound and animations have got some updates aswell afaik.

Has anyone played this since the latest patch/patches?

I've intermittently jumped on to check it out.

Its incredibly more immersive, and the whole world seems to be more alive.

The procedural map generation, completely revamped building system and enhanced cheat protection (plus a boat load of new features) means that it will be great some day in the near to moderate future for us to reassemble the GC Rust crew and carve out a new Rome! I look forward to that day.

They apparently have or will shortly have a system that will let friends spawn into the game near each other!

I've been wanting to chirp in about the progress of the game lately. They've come a long way since Legacy and I think it may have surpasses it actually.

I do want to get back into it but am still waiting for a few things before I do. Mostly the raiding seems to still lack what it used to and it still had performance issues.

But I reckon that in the next couple months, I'll be back...
