Give them some credit, they did remove the lockable RPG based on feeedback from the demo.

On the other hand the beta started 5 month before release so they can tweak based on the community experience for month. And they let comp players and youtubers test it beforehand and tweaked game play based on their feedback between tests. So there is hope that it will be a good game.

And last but not least we have lot's of time to test the demo beta in the next month to see if you like it. Don't like -> don't buy. Simple.

All in all I expect the game play to be much better than BF4 and am pleased by the change of attitude in the last month.
Your enthusiasm and positivity is refreshing, but all I can think about is how perfectly this mimics the BF4 beta preview. We all played it for a few days and heralded it as everything that BF3 should have been. Then, they released a game that was several steps backwards from their polished little demo that we had all played weeks before. It's almost like their beta is a sales pitch for the game that basically misrepresents what the final product really is.
BF4 beta started October 1st. Release was October 31st. In retrospective they would never have been able to fix the bugs in the 3 weeks of work left, and they knew the disaster that was coming. I agree that it worked like a sales pitch (even so they had to release a beta in any case cause they sold the beta with MOH Warfighter. Who in hell decided that (well, probably was smart) and who in hell bought it.)

As said the engine made progress since release. Huge progress IMHO. They fixed a lot they should have fixed before. From the start of BFH beta they have 4.5 month, not 3 weeks. They incorporated feedback from the community before they started the beta.

So yeah, the preconditions are objectively better to get a good game and I like what they do differently now. But I just sound overly positive cause comments about BF4 are basically always negative. I know where this is coming from, and EA+DICE deserve the rage to a certain degree. At the same time I see no point in 'Doesn't matter, frak DICE" type of comments.

And like I didn't preorder BF4 I won't preorder BFH. Through it did not help cause I wanted to play BF4C1 and bought it shortly after release even so I knew about some of the problems. As we won't start a BFHC1 campaign shortly after the release,if ever, I can wait a bit until I decide.

Essentially I like the concepts in BFH (who wants jets anyway ;)

He was referring to the BF4 beta. RPGs could lock on during the BF4 beta. I always just assumed it was because we couldn't unlock any other lock on weapon so they let RPGs be lockable so we could "beta test" lock on weapons. At least that's what I tell myself at night.

After finally being able to download Hardline, I do kinda like it. Flying is a bit clunky and the graphics don't seem quite there, but I think its a solid game, especially for a beta. When it comes to TDM and the like, it will be like BF4, but there are, even in beta things that set the two apart and hopefully give us signs of more good things to come. I see where everyone is coming from with the whole 'they're too similar! wtf dlc!' but I genuinally think come full release it will be as different as BF3 and BF4.

i played it yesterday for the first time.
Same engine, same problems.
http://bestplay.tv/video/539d4c39ae108/bf4cod-dlc

The rounds seem very short, 5-7 minutes on average. Maybe because the map is very small (i don't care how tall it is).
The gun play is exactly the same as in BF4. player movement - gun accuracy - damage (TTK) feels the same.
Weapons do too much damage at close range and i die instantly, not enough response time. Player moves too slow for the damage rate and can't get behind cover before killed. Weapon accuracy is crap, it shakes like i've got Parkinson.
Its BF4: COD DLC.

The only good thing is the revive syringe is back!
The bad thing is it uses the same charge paddles mechanic from BF4.
oh, and he swears.

I uninstalled it one day after downloading it.
I have no regrets.

I downloaded and installed it today. It literally feels like a BF4 mod, and not a particularly good one at that. Not going to buy it.

It's so heartwarming seeing the people here swear that they won't buy it.
