What kind of draft are we going to have this time around?

The officer draft is essentially gonna be a discussion between the HCs with the objective of optimal balance, both according to percieved skill as well as NA/EU divide. We'll draft a relatively small number of officers, compared to previous campaigns, to prevent being overly top heavy, as the total player count has decreased.

Player draft isn't set in stone yet, but I would imagine that it's gonna be a competetive draft for each devision with some measure thrown in there to ensure a good NA/EU split. I'm not sure how exactly we're gonna do that yet (maybe seperate drafts for EU/NA), but that's tbd.

The officer draft form is allready up and the player draft form is gonna be as soon as we hash out a few more details, so we'll try to get this thing going as fast as possible.

I don't like the competitive draft as it doesn't end well most of the times.

anyway, why not open the draft for sign ups? this way the moment the officers are selected you can already start working on the player draft, as most of the players are already in the system? this way allows more time for sign-ups and less time between the officer draft and the player draft.

p.s.
any chance making the global announcements forum visible in the forum index again?

The general player draft isn't yet open as we need to make the armies in ABC. This requires techie people to do it or someone like me would end up nuking ABC which isn't good for anyone. The techie people are currently busy with some stuff but the armies should be made by the end of the weekend. Once made, we can open the player draft.

I'd suggest a grace period where drafted players can expect to be switched to other armies, regardless of the nature of the draft. I dont know how many scrims we will do before the BFI, but pre-BFI switches should be a non-issue.

Gonza and l were discussing this yesterday evening and think it's a very good idea. In order to make sure both Army's are as equally matched as possible.

With any luck we may only need two scrims in order to get the balance right before staring the BFI.
