Hey, guys! We are doing a Rising Storm 2: Vietnam fun day this Saturday, in order to gather everyone's opinion on the game and make plans for a possible future campaign.

a GC server is currently up and running, with the following information:

Server Name: =GC= Global-Conflict.org RS2 Server
Server IP: 86.95.100.169:6030

The server is in the server browser should you wish to search for it manually, however you can also access it through the following steps:

1. start RS2
2. open the console (default is the '~' key on US keyboard layouts)
3. type "open [server IP:port]" without quotes and replacing the bracketed area with the server IP and port
4. hit enter and the game should automatically load into the server

the intention is to use this server tomorrow unless there are technical issues.

After watching a youtube, I pulled the trigger, $22.50 USD.
Some of the gameplay reminded me of BFBC2 Vietnam.

Q: Will Rising Storm 2: Vietnam have SDK support?
A: The SDK will be included with Rising Storm 2: Vietnam. The tools are the same as what was including in Red Orchestra 2 & Rising Storm. Some things will be simpler for modders to set up.
Q: Will Multiplayer Campaign make a return to Rising Storm 2: Vietnam?
A: Multiplayer Campaign will not be in the initial release of the RS2: Vietnam. However, we are considering it for post-release (free) DLC.

My weekends are still hit and miss for gaming without distractions.

What really gets my interest is the price point at release, also the SDK to be released at the same time for Mods. While this is not a DICE or EA game, In my opinion, it could be just as good or better if the MOD tools really allow creativity. Lack of ground vehicles is not a deal killer for me. I tend to enjoy infantry combat without being constantly being pinned down spawn after spawn. Tho I wouldnt say no to an APC or 2.
I do miss the Eve of Destruction mod for BF1942, BF:V, and BF2. And BFBC2:V ate hundreds of hours of my life.

I'll try to make it. I was planning on getting the game anyway being a huge fan of Red Orchestra/Rising Storm. Haven't been on my PC much in the last year or so. Will be nice to play with some of you guys again.

Seems pretty fun. Would be better if my ping was less crap. Also, I seem to be getting really low fps (like <30) on low with my 1070.

But if they fix that (it looks like it's a known issue) then could be a good choice for future games.

I have really good internet and it's still pretty bad. Poorly optimized and clunky movement -- does anyone know if this is being fixed? They have less than two weeks until release lol.

I bought the game after I remembered how much fun I had with Red Orchestra 2 and Rising storm. I might be there on saturday, but will definitely hang around and hope a campaign comes out of it as I know this game would be amazing organized.

as an fyi, we're going to attempt to have our own server running for this. it is going to be set up as public with no special rules, however those of us with admin powers (looking like me and gwyn for the moment, can give some more out depending on who shows up but it shouldn't be required) will be around to kick people to make some room for GC members if required.

the intention here is not to be a battleday test or scrim or even to have a ton of organization on our end - just pubbing with buddies, swapping teams and squadding up on TS. if enough people show up then maybe we can lock it down and do a basic scrim of sorts, but for now the intention is just pubbing on our own server.

if that all goes down in flames for unforeseen technical issues or something like that, then we're just pubbing.

there will also be a "how did you like this" thread/poll in general discussion afterwards that we encourage everyone who plays to participate in so we can judge the general response of doing some deeper dives into the game in order to pursue running a campaign with it before we start poking people about things we would need to do to make that happen.

everyone please send long and heartfelt thank-you PMs to gwyn for allowing us to use BlackIntel's dedicated box for the day, and I'll post server information and how to connect to it directly (instead of sifting through the server browser) once things are up and running.

If a campaign comes out of it I might be up for it, though I wont have very much time
