How did you know? Dam, there goes our big reveal Wild
With you as Army B and me as Army 2, it was going to be so perfect but now we'll have to change it...
For everyone's amusement, I present to you the random alt-history backstory that I came up with while sitting bored at work not doing anything wondering if my boss will retire so I can get a promotion.
SLOTH vs. Ghost Eagle
1963. Greater Vietnam (Dai Viet).
Dai Viet, encompassing the states of Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia, is amidst a Civil War. Having won their independence from France and forming a unified nation out of what was once French Indochina, tensions have turned inwards. Viet Cong, previously trained by the Chinese communists, are violently opposed to the Viet Nationalists, unofficially backed by the West, who merely wished for a more democratic system.
Fear of another large scale war between superpowers, no nation has officially joined in the war. The door was opened though for Private Military Companies, mercenaries by any other name, each with their own agendas.
The Vietnamese Civil War has become a proxy war between two of the largest PMCs. One of which, SLOTH (Strategic Logistics, Overwatch, Threats and Harassment), is suspected of being a mere CIA-backed strike force to skirt international politics and avoid war with Communist Russia or China while spreading the roots of their brand of New World Order. The other, Ghost Eagle, an idealistic band of ex-soldiers composed of ex-WW2 soldiers from the 101st Airborne and the 7th Panzer Division, who oppose the NWO and provide support for any country that is potentially under threat of coming under its thumb regardless of nationality or ideology.
