Right now I have two 1.6 lv xeons clocked at 3.0 Ghz (15 x 200Mhz fsb) each on an Asus pc-dl board, runs awesome.
chips cost $150 pair
board cost $150
added some ddr400 ram and voila!

dual 2.8 Ghz 1 Mb xeon gamer [RESOLVED]

I have been having a LOT of trouble with my a64 machine, mostly to do with my MSI CRAP :x :evil: mobo, ill never buy one again. So, I am getting out the big guns and setting up a dual xeon 2.8 Ghz 1 Mb cache machine :twisted: :twisted: for my main machine (gamer).

If you didnt get an actual windows xp disc and key, you should have gotten an os disc recovery set. If not then its probably pirated, and then windows update wont work.

I turned off the windows firewall, kept norton firewall, and set router to DMZ, its better but not great. I will work on setting the open ports on the router to what the EA support says. Shouldnt be necessary, other games work fine without all this messing around

I am having connection problems as well, with seems every bf2 server. I fully reinstalled windows, and even got a new connection (5000 down / 500up). It must be hardware. I dont get kicked, just periodic connection problem mesages, and frequent very choppy play. (almost unplayable)Plays fine in SP.

I have a radeon 9800 pro. No problems with gameplay in sp. Connection problems with mp. One glitch: When I insert the original driverdisc for my video card I get a blue screen and my machine reboots. I read eatech's customer help, and that is a LOT of ports to open manually, for my windwos firewall and the router 8O . hmmmmmm... maybe ill just set up my game machine as a DMZ zone, disable my XP firewall, keep my norton firewall and try that . should work i hope
