Re: [Star Citizen] - Spaceships in space est. 2012.

right now its sorta between a tech demo and a beta. If you havent played it yet, give it a shot, but i dont reccomend playing it for more than a couple hours because you'll be burning yourself out before the official release. This. I've dipped in and out to check their progress, but there are some ...

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

I understand why they've done it, as setting up and configuring a game server in BF4 isn't a simple task. To the average non-technical gamer, the option may as well not exist. This makes it more accessible which will probably increase sales. Hopefully they've added the tools we need. I suppose we'll...

Man the next few months are looking good for SC.

Also I just edited the thread title because it was a little out of date. Looking forwards to the networking update to fix the crap fps in the test universe.

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

Dunno. If you can detect the enemy's main thrust, stall it and counter elsewhere, you win. Stalling requires defense in place. The meta will evolve as we learn the mechanics. It might start simple but I expect we'll eventually see the same depth as previous titles. Just directed differently, probab...

The joys of doing a PhD. I'm currently installing and having a *late start*. We'll see how today goes.

Re: And who are you, the proud lord said ... [GoT spoilers]

Just finished watching S6. Chain watched most of it this weekend. Frikkin amazing. Some of my highlights Daenerys emerging from the burning building, having killed the Dothraki khal's. HODOR. (the feels) Tyrian kneeling before Daenerys Stark feeding Bolton to the hounds. Overall, a highly enjoyable,...

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

I don't think so. I think they simply reversed the conquest bleed. You still get points for holding flags, which is essentially the bleed. Not exactly. Technically there is no more bleed since there's no more a bank of tickets your team uses up as you spawn in or bleed out. You just accumulate poin...

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLVp8iURBOc Note the way Conquest mode works at the moment - no more ticket bleed. It's basically seems to work like flag TDM now. I don't think so. I think they simply reversed the conquest bleed. You still get points for holding flags, which is essentially the bleed.

Re: Travel to Europe. Have some questions..

With regards to flights, they can often be cheaper/faster than the trains when travelling long distances around Europe, but especially to/from the UK, see easyjet, ryanair, flybe. http://www.skyscanner.net is your friend here. You can search for flights to whole countries rather than just cities, wh...

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

RE: FCing, Even with just a mini-map, or sitting in the spawn screen, it's definitely possible. Not too dissimilar to BF3 on the maps where a MAV wasn't workable - Seine crossing etc. SL's have to be more disciplined though as there isn't as much accountability without commander. Need to keep an eye...

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

Here's 40 minutes of unedited footage from Lvlcap. I've not watched it yet, but it should give some good insights into what the game will be like. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iJVTHMZ6EY EDIT: Some thoughts. Gameplay looks fun in general Less focus on weapons customisation - good. Extreme weapon...

Re: The time gc saved my life

GC really feels like a community, made up of loads of amazing people. It's something quite special, and something that I know has left a lasting impression on quite a few, myself included. I wish I had a counter for how may hours I've spent on TS the past four years. I'm glad it helped you out in yo...

Re: All aboard the BF5 hype train

I'm excited, but I agree entirely with matsif. There's no way of telling how good it'll be until we see some proper gameplay. I'm hoping they've learnt their lessons from Hardline and Battlefront. BF4 has more players online than these two, and it's over two and a half years old now. I'm not saying ...
