Get.a.teacher.
I seee. Well, I went to a music school 3 times and each time I had a different teacher. It wasn't expensive but kinda unprofessional. But the school is made by a bulgarian metal band so, I guess that's what you get :)

I will try and find some independent teacher that can come to my place. My sister took guitar lessons that way.

Thx for the tip :)

I mean, you can play very(!) good while doing most basics "wrong". And there is actually nothing wrong with doing so and long as it sounds good and you groove. (That is how certain "standard" techniques have been "invented" )

But for example: You want to play are difficult and fast song, but you just cant build up the speed to play it. Why? Because you limit yourself with holding your hands wrong, moving your finger inefficiently, etc.

Just remember, your thumb isn't meant to play any strings on the neck. It still gets me when I see extremely competent guitar players wrapping their thumb around the neck, it burns my OCD. Granted guys like Nile Rodgers are still plenty fast/dextrous and can play great despite it...but no one is doing themselves any favours by letting that thumb start inching around towards the fretboard.

Then again neither should you be stretching your fingers out using spindles of thread. It's great to have the extended reach and all, but I still think that's excessive.

Interesting update re: my guitar. Washburn Customer Service has no record of a Pearloid Blue ever being produced by them...and suggested it was a re-paint. I'm skeptical about that because there's no signs that this guitar was tampered with...which either means Washburn's record keeping is lackluster, or this is a Custom Shop guitar. I'm inclined to think it's a Custom Shop guitar even more because of the smaller details than just the blue body. Blue pearloid pickguard, pickup covers, and headstock, and the black pickup housing. Too many small details covered, especially without looking cheap, for me to think that someone just went and repainted a Pearloid Amber Burst.

By tracking the serial #, I know it was made in the US in October of 2000, and was the 1,037th made that month, or maybe year, not fully clear on that one yet.

Still, how crazy is that, I wanted to get back into playing, specifically blues, and I come accross a one-off Pearloid Blue Washburn.

And Slicey, pooooost

Hey guys, sorry about the camera quality and what not, I was really struggling to find some good lighting so I went outside. I've got a Black Ibanez Bass and I have a Custom Fender Bass, I love them both.

I created an Imgur album just to make it easier for myself :P

nice stuff slicey. I'd post my bass if it wasn't a complete shitshow right now after my cousin borrowed it. thing doesn't even play anymore, the wiring for the pickups is shot.

luckily there's a guitar center close to where I'll be moving here in a week, so hopefully I'll be able to pick up a nice new bass to play around with after a few pay checks.

Very sexy indeed, if I was to play a string instrument it would be the Bass  I actually have a cheap guitar that I occasionally mess around and play bass parts on for lols.

But here is my actual baby,

We should start a GC band

Oh nice! You play drums! I always wanted to start playing, but time + space + noise is keeping me away, but someday....

Well I'm a bit older so I play the trumpet in a big band, but I guess that no one here knows what that is all about? ;)
Thinking of getting myself a Gibson Les Paul guitar some day just for fun.

Drums, Trumpet, Bass x bajillion, Guitar (x2 potentially). I totally foresee an internet jam session to make a GC video for BF4, maybe to our own take on the (original) battlefield theme.

I have a drumset, 2 acoustic guitars (3 if you count the one with 3 strings in my basement) and a 100€ Stratocaster. Might make some pics if I get around to it, don't know yet. And GC band would be best band. :O
