I can't believe they're killing off Windows Live Messenger and forcing us to use Skype. I absolutely LOATHE Skype's IM system. Ugh..

Yeah, it just gets progressively worse with each update; they actively remove features. I remember when it had gif avatars and separate volume sliders for each member of a conference call, and they straight up took out both of those. :roll:

I'd use google talk, but nobody uses google +, and I can't blame them.

I use google hangout a lot, better than skype (for video calls)

i got to use google talk (i think, part of the gmail) once. pretty cool. you can show your desktop/browser tab instead of camera to the other side as well. nobody uses it though.

Download, an older version then you will have all the features; but be certain to disable auto update. Also download any extras indirectly to prevent the new bloated skype.
