A mysterious character

Can anyone recognise this character?
I can't figure out what it is. Looks kinda line a tenor clef sign but googleing that returns lost of stuff about the tenor clef. I was hoping someone here may be able to shed light.
Some context, if it helps. It appears in an output of a program due to an empty char being printed:
I'm assuming it exists as a character.
